New to the Mathematics Lab?
All currently registered ELAC students can use the Mathematics Lab. Our
tutors are here to help you succeed in your courses from Basic Math to Calculus.
No appointment is needed. Just walk in, log in, and start studying! You can
also use our open computer lab. Simply log into the computer and you can
use a variety of software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Printing--even
color printing--is available in the lab. Of course, computerized math tutorials
can also be found on our computers.

Printing in the Mathematics Lab
One of the benefits of using the Lab is that we normally open before other campus labs. You can get those last minute edits printed out for your reports and term papers. Starting a print account is easy. Just follow the steps below:
- Enter your username on the Student Account Credit System touchscreen.
- Insert your $1, $5, $10, or $20 bill just like a vending machine.
- Press the PROCEED button on the touchscreen.
- Press the FINISH button on the touchscreen to complete the transaction.
The machines does not accept coins, NOR does it give any change.
The deposite is NON-REFUNDABLE. However, your balance will remain in your printing accout until it is used up.
You can add additional funds to your account the same way. You can check
how much is in your account by clicking on the "My Print Account" icon on
your desktop. Your funds stay in your account until you need them. All you
have to do is to print normally from the software that you are using. You
don't have to worry about any printing debit cards.

Lab Rentals
We have some items available for student use to help you out. Calculators
and books are available for use inside the Mathematics Lab. Unfortunately,
we cannot let students rent calculators and books for home use. We do, however,
have math videos that students can check out like library books. The math
videos cover the following classes: 105, 112, 115, 125, 227, 230, 241, 245,
260, 261, 262, and 263.

Some instructors use MathXL to supplement their classes. This
PowerPoint slideshow presents the registration process as well as some of the initial
screens that you will see in MathXL. This link will start the slideshow.
Some computers may need a PowerPoint Viewer to see the presentation. This
can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/office/000/viewers.htm.
